How to fix Halo Infinite stuck on loading map on PC

3 Mins read

Sometimes, Halo Infinite might get stuck at the LoadingMap screen. The game will usually get stuck at 34 to 54 percent most of the time. Restart your computer to fix the problem. The troubleshooting tips below will help you if the game fails to load your map.

Fixed Halo Infinite is not loading map

Reset your Internet connection

  1. Switch to a cable connection if you are using a wireless internet connection.
  2. All other devices that are connected to your network must be disconnected.
  3. After unplugging your router, allow it to remain unplugged for 2 minutes and then plug it into the wall outlet.
  4. Windows: Launch Command Prompt as administrator rights to clear DNS cache.

Log out of your account

Sign out from your Microsoft account in Halo Infinite to exit the game. Wait for 30 seconds before you turn off your computer. Log in again and turn on your computer. Start Halo Infinite to see if the problem persists.

Delete Halo Infinite cache

You can delete the Halo Infinite game cache and then check the results.

  1. Launch Steam.
  2. Go to Halo Infinite.
  3. Select Properties.
  4. Go to Files.
  5. Click the Browse link.
  6. Open the disc_cache folder.
  7. Next, open the Gamecache folder.
  8. All files in that folder should be deleted
  9. Restart your computer.

Start Halo Infinite. The cache folder will be automatically created by the game. It will take a while for the loading process to complete. This is due to the game recreating the cache directory.

Upgrading your graphics driver

Make sure you update your graphics drivers to the most recent version.

  1. Open the Device Manager.
  2. Go to Display adapters.
  3. Right-click your graphics driver.
  4. Select Update driver.
  5. Restart your computer.

You can also manually download the most recent graphics driver version.

Increase Windows virtual memory

Set your minimum and maximum virtual memory for 16GB RAM to 8000, and 12000 for 16GB. The Halo Infinite maps will load immediately.

  1. Click on the Search icon.
  2. Type Change the appearance and performance Windows.
  3. Click on the first result, then hit Enter.
  4. Click on the Advanced tab in the new window.
  5. Find the Virtual memory Section, then click on Edit.
  6. Note what you see in the Recommended Value box.
  7. Clear the Automatically manage paging files size for all drives box.
  8. Click on Custom Size.
  9. In the Initial Size Box (8000), enter the Recommended Value
  10. Enter a larger number in the Maximum box (12000).
  11. Save your settings and hit Apply to restart your computer.

You should be aware that changing your virtual memory settings can cause system instability. Find the right configuration for your computer if it has a different RAM.

Unnecessary network adapters should be disabled

  1. Search Windows
  2. Enter View network connections, and hit Enter.
  3. The screen will display a list of network adapters.
  4. All network adapters, except the current Internet connection, must be disabled
  5. Start Halo Infinite to verify that the game loads the map correctly.

Disable Windows Security’s Real-time Protection

Many Halo Infinite users confirmed that the game loaded normal after disabling Windows Security’s Real-time Protection.

  1. Go to Setting.
  2. Select Security.
  3. Click on Windows Security.
  4. Go to Virus and threat protection.
  5. Click on Manage.
  6. Toggle Off Real-time Protection.

Deactivate the High-Resolution Texture DLC

Disable the High-Res Texture DLC to fix Halo Infinite’s infinite map loading problems.

  1. Launch Steam.
  2. Go to your Library.
  3. Right-click Halo infinite.
  4. Select Properties.
  5. Navigate to the DLC tab.
  6. Clear the Multiplayer HD Textures DLC box.

Edit your game settings to run the game at low-medium settings.

Disable the Xbox Companion App

You can try to delete the Xbox Companion App. Many users have reported that they were able to fix their problems with map loading by removing the Xbox Companion App.

Other solutions

  • You can set the game to either 30 FPS or 60 FPS, depending on your configuration.
  • To run at High Priority, set Halo Infinite to Task Manager
  • Disable IPv6
  • Overheating problems should be checked.
  • Deactivate overclocking software
  • As an administrator, run Halo Infinite.
  • Reinstall Halo Infinite.

Clear the DNS cache to stop Halo Infinite from loading your map. Restart your router. Sign out of Microsoft and then delete the game cache. Also, make sure to update your graphics driver and disable High-Res Texture DLC. If the problem persists, disable network adapters and increase Windows virtual memory.
